What does “closing rank” mean?
It is the highest rank listed for the same college, course, quota, seat category and round in the imported data. A smaller numeric rank is better.
MCC results use only the current round’s allotment column, including upgrades. Earlier carried-over columns are excluded. Tamil Nadu lists can include retained seats.
Allotment is not proof of joining. Counts across rounds are list observations, not unique people or filled seats.
What do the match labels mean?
- More historical room: your rank is at least 15% better than the closing rank in every selected year, with at least two years available.
- Reached your rank before: at least one selected year’s closing rank reached your rank.
- Stretch: your rank is beyond the imported closing ranks for that exact category.
When you enter a rank, options are shown only if at least one selected year and round reached it. To browse the others, select Include stretch options in More filters. An older-year match is labelled alongside the latest closing rank. These describe past records; they are not admission probabilities.
